RETRO FIX
People of the Trees ... This Saturday will be our last Retro until the summer. We are planning some spectacular events at Trees for 2010 and have made the decision to pick and choose the dates carefully. Retro at Trees will NOT be a regular monthly. Lets make the most of this weekend!
Make the most of your Retro fix!

THIS HAS GOT TO BE SAID!
I wish to take this opportunity to voice my opinion about a subject that I feel is having a severe detrimental effect in not only our clubbing environment but also the social fabric of this country.
During the last year or so I have witnessed the massive increasing consumption of the so called legal high called M Cat or Cathinone Mephedrone, (also known as bubble or mieow mieow) indeed a substantial amount of friends and people who I know are bang into this new, cheap and nasty "high".
I have never in my past felt that I needed to stand on my morally high soap box and preach about the dangers of legal or illegal drug use, I am certainly not qualified to do so and one thing I am not is a hypocrite, but I feel I have a social responsibility as a mentor to our many Retro fans who I see and meet in their thousands every month.
THIS DRUG IS WRONG, I have physically seen crowds in our regular venues turn from places of superb, exciting cauldrons of atmosphere to what I can only describe as a busy numbness with peoples minds not on the music that brings us together but in another "bubble world" which seems very unnatural to me. Also I have witnessed over time the demise of individuals as this addictive paranoid anxiety fuelled dirge drug slowly takes over their lives - it's cheap so you can afford more so you take it over longer than normal sessions and the time starts creeping into week days and more often than not it can destroy your personality. I also strongly believe that this anti social plant food chemical is driving groups of punters OUT of clubs INTO small "bubble spaces" where they feel a lot more comfortable, where time can pass them by.
I truly believe that this substance is a strong depressive and I personally want to see the back of it. Do yourselves a massive favour and decline from ordering it or accepting it when offered and let's get back to enjoying the REAL reason we enjoy our nights out, our love of music and most of all our enjoyment of our friends and meeting new friends.
In these difficult financial/social times we need to be positive and safe, we all need to be aware of the unknown effects of this new so called trend and above all I want to see REAL smiles on peoples faces.
Rant over, I had to get this off my chest, this has been disturbing me for quite some time and I am in a privileged position where I have a forum to express my opinions and I thank you for allowing me to do this.
Life - you have to love it.
See you all soon.
Paul X
